Erminnie June Marlowe, 83, of Zanesville, died at 1:45 p.m. Monday, October 25, 2010 at the Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus. She was born May 23, 1927, in Muskingum County, a daughter of the late Elmer James "Jim" and Marguerite "Peg" Barnes Caton. She was a volunteer at the Adams Lane Care Center and was an avid golfer, having played up to the age of 79 and played in several leagues. She was a member of the Bethesda Jr. Women's League and Eastside Community Ministries. She was Presbyterian by faith. Surviving are three daughters, Amy (Jeffrey) Ater of Lilburn, GA., Peggy (Harry "Scoop") McKirahan of New Concord and Patty (David) Mayhew of Jackson, TN; two grandchildren, Kelly Ater of Lilburn, GA. and Matthew Ater of Atlanta, GA.; three step grandchildren, Staci Heller, Gwyn Griffiths and Jeff McKirahan; eight step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William O. Marlowe, who died February 23, 2000; and three sisters, Shirley Sharp, Margaret Hayes and Carole Allton. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at noon Friday, October 29, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Pastor Dean Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
