Ernest A. Frazier, 94, of Zanesville, passed away at 7:35 A.M. Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, after a brief illness. He was born April 30, 1918 in Longmont, Colorado, the son of the late Emmett A. and Lena Walker Frazier. He graduated from Chandlersville High School in 1936, and attended Ohio and Northwestern Universities. Ernest enlisted in the U.S. Navy immediately after the Pearl Harbor attack and served 32 months in the Pacific, from Guadalcanal to the Philippines where they were preparing to invade Japan. Ernest retired from B&O-CSX Railroad in Cincinnati on October 1, 1978 as superintendent of operations. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a Kentucky Colonel. Surviving are his brother Marion (Camella) of Jacksonville, FL; grandchildren Brooke, Shannon and Jon Cameron of Florida and Ryan Frazier of Tennessee; three great grandchildren; a niece Kay (Jim) Peters of Woodsfield, OH; a daughter-in-law Ali Frazier of McKenzie, TN; and a very special friend Bobbie (Gookins) Rust of Zanesville. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Miller Frazier; son, Alan Frazier, who died October 5, 2012; sister, Marcella Frazier; and two brothers, Leland and Leonard Frazier. He was a remarkable man and will be greatly missed by all his family and friends. Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. until the time of funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Friday, December 28, 2012, at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville with Rev. Tom England officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his wife, Ruth, at Chandlersville Cemetery, Chandlersville with full military Honors being presented by the United States Navy in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058.
