Ernest L. Paynter Jr., 77, of McConnelsville, died at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 10, 2009 at Cornerstone Hospice in Tavares. Florida following a sudden illness with cancer. He was born August 15, 1932, in Dresden, Ohio, the son of the late Ernest L. and Jeannette Kokensparger Paynter Sr. Ernest retired from the former McGraw Edison Co and was a retired farmer. He was a member of the Eagles Lodge #302 and the Toastmasters of Zanesville. Ernest enjoyed farming, woodworking, and traveling. Surviving are a son, Kenneth (Jaci) Paynter of Zanesville; two grandsons Shad (Molly) Paynter and Austin Wolfe; a granddaughter, Abby Wolfe; two great grandsons, Bo Paynter and Ajay Paynter; five sisters, Patricia Norris of Zanesville, Phyllis Willard of Zanesville, Sally (Fred) Albrecht of Centerburg, Ohio, Jane (Don) Untied of Frazeysburg, Ohio and June (Bud) Lacy of Dresden, Ohio; a brother Donald (Butch) Paynter of Zanesville; several nieces and nephews; and a son in-law, David Wolfe of Zanesville. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Lynn Ann Wolfe. Friends may call from 4-7 pm Tuesday, December 15, 2009 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville. Funeral services will be at 7:00 pm Tuesday with Minister Fred Albrecht officiating. A dignified cremation will follow.
