Estelle Viola (Moretz) Dinan

June 8, 1944 — February 1, 2024

Estelle Viola Dinan passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on February 1, 2024 at 5:49 am. She was born in Boone, North Carolina on June 8th, 1944 to Ralph and Verla Moretz. Estelle lived a wonderful life full of love, adventure and friendship. She got to travel the world as an Eastern Airline stewardess, loved all the kids from her home daycare and took pride in her thoughts for the day as a fitness center employee. In her retirement she enjoyed many travels, garden club, knitting club and book club. She loved her exercise class, listening to live music, working in her garden, watching the Ohio State Buckeyes, and most of all her grandbabies.

She is survived by her 5 children and their spouses: David Alan & Nicole Dinan, Melissa & Craig Shaw, Kristen & Jason Buffkin, Megan & Tye Berkfield and Allison & Nick Gordon and her loving best friend and companion, Donald C. Moody. Glenn Moretz, Jane Grubb, Ed Moretz, Jerry Moretz, Kay Moretz and Ray Moretz are her loving, surviving siblings. She was the best Grammy to her 8 grandchildren: Jacob Shaw, Matthew & Ryan Dinan, Emily Jane & Blake Buffkin, Boone & Finley Berkfield and Mack Gordon. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters in law: Christine and William Merry, Peggy Dinan, Brenda Dinan, John and Kathleen Dinan and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who were like family. Estelle loved family above all else.

In addition to her mother and father and several siblings, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 30 years, David Alan Dinan and her first and precious granddaughter Emily Jane Buffkin.

Friends and family may call from 3:00-7:00 pm on Monday, February 5, 2024, at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Tuesday February 6, 2024 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 116 N. Seventh St. Zanesville, with Pastor Mark Combs officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband David at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Zanesville.
