Esther Lavada (Walters) Winegardner

Esther Lavada Winegardner, 89, of Caldwell, died at 10:10 P.M. on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Summit Acres Nursing Home, Caldwell. She was born June 2, 1924, in Waukon, IA, a daughter of the late Seth and Esther Wickham Walters. She was a member of Hopewell Free Methodist Church. Surviving are a son Gary (Linda) Winegardner of Caldwell; three daughters, Dorene (Rick) Hunter of Villages, FL, Linda Winegardner of N. Ft. Myers, FL, and Lori (Donnie) Phillis of Zanesville; eleven grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; a great great grandchild; and a brother Seth "Jr" (Dorothy) Walters of FL. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Dale Robert Winegardner, who died June 4, 2006; a daughter Vicki Nixon; a granddaughter Melissa Phillis; two sisters, Lila Schall and Wava Little; and three brothers, Floyd, Ralph, and Boots Walters. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, March 9, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, March 10, 2014, with Rev. Kenny Chase officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Dale at Mt. Sterling Cemetery, Hopewell.
