Evelyn C Jones

Evelyn C. Jones, 87, of Zanesville, died at 10:15 p.m. Tuesday, August 24, 2010 at her residence. She was born December 29, 1922, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Otto J. and Clara Marie Haug Rittberger. She retired after 23 years of service as a clerk for Putnam Transfer. She was a member of the Immanuel United Church of Christ. Surviving is a son, D. Jeffrey Jones of Zanesville and a sister, Helen I. Meyer of Zanesville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Donald E. Jones, who died January 17, 1993; a brother, John Otto Rittberger; and a sister, Louise K. Achauer. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, August 26, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, August 27, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor Mitch Reed officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
