Evelyn K. (Calendine) Quimby

July 1, 1922 — May 4, 2011

Evelyn K. Quimby, 88, of South Zanesville, died at 7:25 a.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at the Forest View Nursing Home. She was born July 1, 1922, in Malta, Ohio, a daughter of the late James and Rosa Gheen Calendine. She retired after 30 years of service in the packing department for Brockway Glass. She was a member of the South Zanesville United Methodist Church and the South Senior Club. Surviving are a son, Charles V. "Sonny" (Sharon) Quimby Jr. of Zanesville; two daughters, Penny J. Sherrick of South Zanesville and Cindy L. Stottsberry of South Zanesville; six grandchildren, Nonnie (Phil) Williams, Marcie (Jason) Wilson, Jeff (Shelly) Stottsberry, Amanda (Robert) Matthews, Lance Colt Sherrick and Tyler Sherrick; four great grandchildren, Emily, Gracie, Sierra and Dawson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Charles V. Quimby Sr., whom she married July 2, 1944 and who died October 7, 2007; six sisters, Goldie Shafer, Louise Calendine, Edith Hilanan, Dorothy Sparks, Hazel Adrean and Eleanor Banfield; four brothers, Raymond, Landon, Jim and John Calendine; and two son-in-laws, Lance Sherrick and Jeff Stottsberry. Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, May 6, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011 at the funeral home with Rev. Joy French officiating. Evelyn will be laid to rest next to her husband Charles at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
