Everett Holdcroft Jr., 70, of Zanesville, died at 5:30 a.m. Wednesday, January 5, 2011 at his residence surrounded by family members due to complications from diabetes. He was born June 6, 1940, in Zanesville, the son of the late Everett Sr. and Betty L. Perone Holdcroft. Mr. Holdcroft had been a resident of Zanesville most of his life. He was the owner and operator of H&H Contracting and was a United States Army Vietnam Veteran. Surviving are his wife of 28 years, Ruth Maxwell Holdcroft, whom he married April 4, 1982, of the home; a daughter, Amanda Dawn Holdcroft; four sons, Dan, Bob, Rod and Justin Holdcroft; five grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Chad Holdcroft. Calling hours will begin at 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 7, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Pastor L. Dale McAllister officiating. He will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery. The United States Army in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post #1058 will hold full military rites at the gravesite.
