Everett R. Semon, 91, of Columbus, formerly of Zanesville, died at 5:10 A.M. on Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at the Scioto Retirement Community. He was born September 13, 1924 in Woodsfield, son of the late Lorentz and Eva Wittenbrook Semon. He was a World War II U.S. Navy Veteran and had worked as an accountant for Rexnord Racine Hydraulics and Dana Holding Corporation. He is survived by two sons, Evan Semon of Columbus and Eric (Karen) Semon of Peachtree City Georgia; one grandchild, Erica (Stephen) Pye, and a great-grandchild expected shortly. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Madalyn E. Pryor Semon, in 1994; brothers, Charles, Gene, Larry, and Don Semon; and sister, Dora Lea Walker. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, August 15, 2016, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors being provided by the United States Navy in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and the American Legion Post 29.
