Floyd E. Lemmon Jr.

Floyd E. Lemmon Jr., 57, of Zanesville, died at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, September 17, 2008 at his residence. He was born March 15, 1951, in Zanesville, a son of the late Floyd E. Sr. and Norma Slater Lemmon. He retired as a Sergeant for the Zanesville Police Department after 25 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves with the Military Police, was a member of FOP Zane Lodge #5, Eagles Lodge #302 and the American Legion. He was a Catholic by faith and was an avid golfer and loved fishing and hunting. Surviving are a son, Joe (Melinda) Lemmon of Zanesville; three step sons, Ian Hissam of Zanesville, Captain Jacob Hina, U.S. Army, stationed in Iraq and Mark Beach of Zanesville; a step daughter, Angie Brooks of Zanesville; two grandchildren, Audrianna Hissam and Jackson Hina; a sister, Karen Sue Moore of Zanesville; a brother, Robert (Lil) Lemmon of Zanesville; four nieces, Amber Lemmon, Lori May, Sarah May and Abby Murphy; three nephews, David Moore, Robert Lemmon Jr. and Timothy Lemmon; special friends, Gary Minner, John Frame, Police Chief, Eric Lambes and all his friends at the police department. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step mother, Sally Lemmon. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, September 21, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville, where Eagles Lodge #302 will hold services at 5:45 p.m. and FOP Zane Lodge #5 will hold services at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 22, 2008 at the funeral home with Father Leo Connolly officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery.
