Floyd E. Lemmon Sr., 80, of Zanesville, passed away at his residence on November 25, 2006. He was born June 21, 1926, in Zanesville, the son of the late Carl and Dorothy (McCoid) Lemmon. He was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. He was a World War II Army Veteran, a member of the VFW George Selsam Post 1058, he was a lifetime member of DAV, American Legion Post 29, the Eagles Lodge #302 and a past President of the FOP Zane Lodge #5. Surviving are his wife, Sally Ann Zinsmeister, whom he married on June 21, 1970; one daughter, Karen Sue Moore of Zanesville; two sons, Floyd E. Lemmon, Jr. of Zanesville and Robert (Lill) Lemmon of Zanesville; eight grandchildren, David Carl Moore, Lori Jean (Tom) May, Robert Lemmon, Jr., Amber Lemmon, Timothy Lemmon, Joe (Melinda) Lemmon, Ian Hissan and Jacob Hina; two great grandchildren, Alley Murphy and Sarah Mae; three special angels, Jordan, Audrey and Brooklyn Wheeler and his special pet companion Maisy. Besides his parents, he was preceeded in death by his first wife, Norma Jean Lemmon. Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 28, 2006 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, November 29, 2006 with a Dominican Father as Celebrant. A Christian vigil service will be held at the funeral home at 3:45 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will follow at Mt. Olive Cemetery. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold full military services at the grave site. FOP Lodge #5 and FOPA Lodge #16 will hold services at the funeral home at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday and Eagles Lodge #302 will hold services at 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Genesis Hospice Morrison House and Palliative Care.
