Francis "Larry" Kane

Francis “Larry” Kane, 84, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville, following a two month illness ending with complications from Covid with his wife and family by his side. He was born in Warren County, Illinois on June 24, 1939, to John and Ruth Kane. Larry was a 1957, graduate of Monmouth High School, where he met Patricia “Pat”, his high school sweetheart, whom he married on April 18, 1959. Larry enjoyed watching sports, especially football and was a fan of The Ohio State Buckeyes, western movies and reading. He was a man of many talents, he could work on anything, fix anything and had a long list of projects to work on at all times.  He fully retired at the age of 81. He loved spending time with his family and he left them with many memories to cherish.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years; three daughters, Vicki Jenkins, Michele (Fred) Carter and Paula (Scott) Bell; his grandsons “his boys”, Brian Jenkins, Michael Carter, Sean and Ryan Bell; great-granddaughter, Catalaya Cox; his brother-in-law, John Ryner and his wife, Wanda; and many nieces and nephews.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents; his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Diane Kane; his sister, Lynne Reeves; his daughter, Mary Kane; and his granddaughter, Katie Jenkins.

To honor Larry’s wishes, he will be cremated and there will be no calling hours or service, a private graveside service will take place.
