Frank Eugene Brookner, 91, of Zanesville, died at 3:00 a.m. Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Adams Lane Care Center. He was born September 12, 1917, in Joliet, IL., a son of the late Leon John and Florence B. Lang Brookner. He retired as a Postal Worker for The United States Postal Service. He was a member of the Grace Wesleyan Church on Pine Street. Frank was a World War II United States Marine Veteran. Surviving are a daughter, Bronwyn (Bunny) and husband Phillip Pryor of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Neal (Heather) Pryor, Amy (Scott) Lewis and Heather (Chad) Goins; three great grandchildren, Madison, Lillie and Jackson. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bette Homman Brookner, who died December 19, 2008; and a brother, Jack Brookner. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. till service time at 1:00 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2009 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with Ed Clifton and Rev. Mike McGuire officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with full military honors being provided by the United States Marines with the assistance of VFW George Selsam Post 1058.
