Fred W. Beckert

Fred W. Beckert, 95, of Zanesville, died at 12:54 A.M. on Friday, February 19, 2016, at the Ohio Veteran House in Sandusky. He was born on October 19, 1920, in Zanesville, a son of the late A.D. and Helen Marshall Beckert. He was a WWII veteran of the United States Navy, worked at Northside Plumbing, and was a farmer. He is survived by one son Fred "Larry" (Sandra) Beckert; seven grandchildren, Brent Beckert, Barbara Beckert, Bryan Beckert, Fred (Missy) Beckert, Susan (Troy) Brock, Debbie (William "Billy") Wyde, and Amy K. Becket; ten great grandchildren; and great great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Betty M. Williams Beckert, who died September 25, 1995; and a brother Andy Beckert. No calling hours will be observed, a graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday February 22, 2016, at Williams Cemetery, Zanesville, with Rev. Charles Norris officiating, with full military honors being presented by the United States Navy in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post #1058 and American Legion Post #29. Arrangements were entrusted to the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville.
