Fred Darlington Bone, 86, of Zanesville, died at 4:10 p.m. Tuesday, January 22, 2008 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital following a short illness. He was born September 6, 1921, in Bristol Township, Ohio, a son of the late Herman and Myrtle Dugan Bone. Fred graduated from M & M High School Class of 1939, retired as a foreman for McGraw/Edison, formerly Line Material and was a WWII Navy and Marine Corps Veteran where he served as LT JG. He was a life member of Lodge Council Chapter Consistory - Scottish Rite, Valley of Cambridge; a life member of American Legion Post #29 for 36 years, a life member of VFW George Selsam Post #1058, Elks Lodge for 31 years, Amrou Grotto 45, 32 Degree Mason - Lodge of Amity, Aladdin Shrine and a 50 year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. Surviving are his children, Stephen A. (Janet) Bone, Linda (John) Seevers and Robert (Tammy) Bone, all of Zanesville; 10 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and a special devoted loving friend, Mary I. Zarley. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Jean Bone, who died December 10, 1984; a brother, Herbert Bone and four sisters, Helen Shepler, Mary Louise Price, Rose Jones and Adelaide Vales. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, January 24, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2008 at the funeral home with Pastor Dean Cole officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. VFW George Selsam Post #1058 will hold full military rites at the graveside. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
