Fred C. Pitts (79) of Zanesville passed away on Saturday, January 4th, 2025, while in Genesis Hospital's care. He was born June 6, 1945 in Zanesville to Harold and Ruby (Tousley) Pitts. Fred retired from Rockwell International and later worked as a security guard for Auto Zone, and was a groundskeeper for Perry Township. He was a volunteer with Perry Township Fire and Squad for over 25 years. He was a Grotto clown for many years. He was a member of the Chandlersville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jill (Holmes) Pitts, and his daughters, Stacey Goddard, and Jodi (Andrew) Butcher; his grandchildren, Kyle (Shayna) Butcher, Kaylie (Shayne) Tanner, Kourtney Butcher, Grant Goddard, and Gracie Goddard; his great-grandchildren Riley, Levi, and Luke Butcher, Graydon, Jaxton, and Haizen Tanner, and his sister, Margaret Hayes.
Fred is preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brothers, Maxwell and William Pitts.
Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, January 8th, 2025, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. He will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery.
