Gainel M. (Parry) Rogers

Gainel M. Rogers, 99, of Zanesville, died at 10:55 P.M. on Tuesday, February 25, 2014, at Cedar Hill Care Center. She was born October 29, 1914, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Cecil and May N. Barnes Parry. She had worked as a Supervisor at Ohio Bell for 13 years, and did volunteer work for the American Red Cross. She was a member of Coburn United Methodist Church where she was active in the United Methodist Women's Society, Mildred Butler Circle, and taught Semper Fidelis Sunday School for over 30 years. Surviving are a son Thomas E. (Susan) McDermott of Marion; two grandchildren, Mandy (James) Martin and Mark (Angela) McDermott; four great grandchildren, Jason Tyo, Tristan McDermott, Garrett McDermott, and Asia Hatfield; and three nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Raymond E. Rogers, who died July 28, 1997; a brother Willard Parry; and a sister Helen Wilson. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, February 28, 2014, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Saturday, March 1, 2014, with calling one hour prior, at Coburn United Methodist Church, 3618 Maple Avenue, Zanesville, with Rev. Webster Cox officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
