Gene P. Dalton, 82, of South Zanesville, Ohio, died at 7:52 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, 2005 at Genesis Morrison House and Pallitiave Care. He was born August 31, 1922 in Mason MO., the son of the late William V. And Vera Mae Funderburke Dalton. Mr. Dalton was a retired truck mechanic (1985) for Halliburton Oil where he worked for 25 years.He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and a member of the American Legion. Surviving are one son, Mike A. Dalton of South Zanesville, two daughters, Sue (Mike) Fraunfelter of Zanesville, and Debby Coconis of South Zanesville, nine grandchildren, Andrea Lane, Ashley (Ted) Pickrell, Abby Dalton, Brian (Melissa) Fraunfelter, Randy (Melissa) Fraunfelter, Kevin (Catrina) Fraunfelter, Bo Coconis, Erin (Jay) Shatto, and Chad (Shannon) Coconis, thirteen great grandchildren Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. Huff Dalton who died October 21, 2003, a sister Stella Marie Wilson, and a brother, Raleigh W. Dalton Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2005 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville, Ohio.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, April 22, 2005 at the funeral home with Rev. Mary Gene Boteler officiating.Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery.
