Geneva Sue Roberts

July 23, 1941 — October 20, 2018

Geneva Sue (Butcher) Roberts, 77, of Nashport passed away October 20, 2018 at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville, after a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born July 23, 1941, in Zanesville, daughter of the late Frank L. and Hazel E. (Settles) Butcher. Sue (as she was known to her family and friends), was raised in a Catholic household, attending St. Nicholas Church and Rosecrans High School in Zanesville. After marrying the love of her life, Donald E. Roberts on April 4, 1959, Sue enjoyed being a wife, home maker, and raising their four sons. She also worked outside the home at various jobs, including several years of employment at the Longaberger Company. Sue relished time gardening, traveling, reading, and caring for her many pets including her devoted Dachshund, Annie Mae. Sue loved and cherished time spent with family. Sue is survived by her sons, Kevin L. (Kelly) Roberts of Zanesville, Dennis E. Roberts, James G. (Sophia) Roberts of Nashport, and Don A. (Brandy) Roberts of Dresden; six grandchildren, Brett (Diane), Meghan, Angelo, Drew, Dana, and Derek Roberts; brothers, Michael Butcher, Stephen (Nancy) Butcher; sister, Jennifer (Ken) Miller; and sister-in-law, Jean Butcher. In addition to her parents, Sue was preceded in death by her husband of fifty seven years, Donald E. Roberts; brothers, Fred Butcher, Ronald Butcher, and Don Butcher. As was Sue's request, a Cremation-With-Care has taken place under the direction of BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. A private service for the immediate family will take place at a later date.
