George W. " Bill "Boetcher, 81, of Zanesville, Ohio, died at 11:15 p.m. Saturday, December 25, 2004 at the Select Specialty Hospital, Zanesville after a lingering illness. He was born January 7, 1923 in Zanesville the son of the late Earl L. and Ella Adams Boetcher. Mr. Boetcher was a salesman for the Falters Meat Packing Co., retiring in 2002. He was a member of the Meadow Farm United Methodist Church, a member of the Fraternal Order of Elks Lodge # 114, member of the UCT and served his country in the army of WW2. Mr. Boetcher was a member of the VFW George Selsam Post 1058. Surviving are his wife, Dorothy Combs Boetcher, whom he married December 19, 1941 of the home, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Helen Kirk and a brother Wayne Boetcher. Friends may call 2 to 6 p.m. Monday, December 27, 2004 at the Bolin Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 28, 2004 at the funeral home with the Rev. Matt Blau and Rev. Doris Flynn officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park. VFW George Selsam Post 1058 will hold military services at the gravesite. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Meadow Farm United Methodist Church.
