George E. Bronkar Jr.

George E. Bronkar Jr., 86, of Nashport, died at 4:38 a.m. Friday, November 20, 2009 at his home. He was born October 9, 1923 in Zanesville, a son of the late George E. Sr. and Louise Boetcher Bronkar. He retired from Armco Steel. He served in the United States Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a member of the Armco Retirees and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved his grandchildren. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Irene Taylor Bronkar, whom he married June 30, 1962, of the home; a son, Kelly (Cherie) Bronkar of Zanesville; a stepdaughter, Robin (Fred) Morgan of Nashport; a stepson, Kevin Buty of Zanesville; 3 grandchildren, Lily, Austin and Broc; a sister, Beulah Harper of Zanesville; and two brothers, Charles (Eunice) Bronkar of Urbana and Earl (Ann) Bronkar of Nashport. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Bronkar; and two sisters, Mary Shearer and Dorothy Sims. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Sunday, November 22, 2009 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, November 23, 2009 at the funeral home with Pastor Clarence M. Dinnen officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. The United States Army with the assistance of VFW George Selsam Post #1058 will hold full military rites at the graveside.
