George C. Dale

George C. Dale, 88, of Hopewell, died at 2:40 p.m. Friday, November 23, 2007 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born July 21, 1919, in Shawnee, Ohio, a son of the late Harvey and Hannah Butterfield Dale. He was a retired truck driver from the former Lightning Express, a member of Woodlawn Avenue Church of Christ and a WWII Marine veteran. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Aloma Anders Dale of the home; a daughter, Karen L. Dale of Hopewell and a brother, William E. (Jean) Dale of Gratiot. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marjorie and Jenny Lee and five brothers, Robert, Earl, Joseph, David and Edward. Mr. Dale's wishes were to be cremated. No calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville are entrusted with arrangements.
