Georgia M. (Maneely) Strauss

Georgia M. Strauss, 89, of Crossville, TN., passed away at 5:15 a.m. Sunday, May 23, 2010 at the Wharton Nursing Home in Pleasant Hill, TN.. She was born March 2, 1921, in Zanesville, the daughter of the late George and Anna May Clark Maneely. Georgia was a former ad clerk at the Zanesville Times Recorder and a longtime member of the First Christian Church Disciples of Christ. Surviving are a son, Douglas (Erin) Strauss of Crossville, TN.; one granddaughter, Shannon (James) Sparling of Crossville, TN.; and three great grandchildren, Nicole, Brittany and Alex Sparling of Crossville, TN. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe William Strauss, who died in 1994; a son, Phillip Lee Strauss, who died in 1986; and a sister, Clara Bowman. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 27, 2010 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville with the Rev. Dawn Remster officiating.
