Gerald W. Adams

Gerald W. "Billy" Adams, 69, of Zanesville, died at 6:04 p.m. Friday, September 12, 2008 at the Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born September 28, 1938, in Zanesville, the son of Margarette Kennedy Adams and the late Roscoe Adams. Billy retired in the annealing department of AK Steel (Armco) after 41 years of service. He was an Army Veteran of the Vietnam War and attended the Wesleyan Methodist Church. Billy was an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports. Besides his mother, Margarette Adams of Zanesville, he is survived by his wife, Wanda Louise Tom Adams, whom he married October 14, 1963. Also surviving are two sons, Tony (Karolyn) Adams and Bruce Adams, both of Zanesville and grandchildren, Melissa, Travys, Morgan, Taylor and Lexi Adams. A memorial service celebrating the life of Billy will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, September 19, 2008 at the Union Tabernacle Church, 2433 Hartford Avenue, Zanesville. Friends may call one hour prior to services. Memorial contributions may be made to the James Cancer Wing at Genesis.
