Gerald E. Johnson, 58, died at 7:59 a.m. Wednesday, June 7, 2006 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital emergency room. He was born September 21, 1947, in Zanesville, a son of the late Delbert and Alberta Smith Johnson. He worked for 25 years at Owens Corning Fiberglass Co and then worked construction. Gerald was a NASCAR enthusiast, who loved both #8 and # 3, Dale Earnhardt Jr. & Sr. Surviving are his loving wife of 40 years, Barbara Lemmon Johnson, whom he married June 4, 1966, of the home, a son, Adam (Wendy) Johnson of Zanesville, a daughter, Eve (Eric) McNulty of New Lexington, two grandchildren, Brooke and Brody McNulty, three step-grandchildren, Jonathon and Alexa Swartz and Katie McNulty and a half brother, Ernie Balsley of Zanesville. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Henry Johnson and a half-brother, Jim Balsley. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, June 9, 2006 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2006 with Rev. Reginald Martin officiating. A caring cremation will take place following the service.
