Geraldine "Gerrie" Davis

Geraldine N. "Gerrie" Davis, 93, of Hopewell, was peacefully ushered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ surrounded by her loving family on Friday, November 16, 2018 at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. She was born April 28, 1925, in Zanesville during the Great Depression, a daughter of the late Albert and Edna Kovaleski Dunlap. She worked at the uniform factory downtown when she met and married Don F. Davis. She was a devoted wife and mother of five. Later in life she worked for General Elcetric until she retired. Gerrie loved to help her husband on the farm, anything from cracking nuts, canning, gardening, picking berries and planting trees. She was an excellent baker but her greatest passion was being with her family. Surviving are her children, Dawn Kline, Jan Cleek, Jeff (Laura) Davis, Jeri (Paul) Swingle and Laura (Eric) Wagner; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; great nieces and great nephews; two sisters-in-law, Betty Dunlap and Shirley Dunlap. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Don F. Davis, who died June 11, 2016; a granddaughter, Jennifer Berry; a great granddaughter, Kaylee Parrish; two sons-in-law, Jack D. Berry and Earl Cleek; and siblings, Charles Dunlap, Grace Van Gelderen, Albert Dunlap, Calvin Dunlap, Mildred McHenry, George Dunlap, Clem Dunlap and Leonard Dunlap. No calling hours will be observed. A Cremation with care has taken place. A Celebration of Life Service will be at a later date and she will be laid to rest with her husband, Don at Poplar Fork Cemetery, Gratiot.
