Gilbert D. "Meat" Lyons, 54, of Zanesville, died at 9:30 p.m. Friday, January 26, 2007 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born February 23, 1952 in Zanesville a son of Betty M. Secrest Lyons and the late Gilbert O. Lyons. He was a Journeyman Electrician for IBEW Local # 1105, was an avid hunter, fisherman and history buff. Gilbert especially enjoyed his three precious grandchildren and building and riding his motorcycles. Surviving in addition to his mother is his loving wife, Debbie L. Mick Lyons, whom he married February 12, 1984, of the home; a daughter, Vikki Lynn (Scott) Smith of Johnstown; two sons, David ( Pamela) Lyons of Dresden and Matthew Lyons of Zanesville; three grandchildren, Ashley Ziegler, Cameron Lyons and Hailey Smith; two sisters, Carolyn (Gerald) Prouty of Norwich and Nancy (Gary) Kearns of Zanesville, a brother, Stan Lyons of Zanesville; mother-in-law, Jodi Lloyd of Zanesville and brother-in-law, Phil Mick of Washington, Georgia and many nieces nephews, cousins and good friends. Besides his father he was preceded in death by a brother, Richard B. Lyons. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, January 29, 2007 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at the funeral home with Rev. Roy Keyser officiating. A caring cremation will follow.
