Louise Bates, 88, of Zanesville, died at 10:26 a.m. Monday, May 02, 2011 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. She was born June 30, 1922, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Edward and Jane Hendershot Wright. She was a retired secretary. She was a member of the Norval Park Church of Christ, where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She was also a member of the Mother Singers and the Post Office Postal Auxiliary. Surviving are three sons, Ronald L. (Pamela) Bates of Cocoa, FL, Thomas R. Bates of Garner, NC and Gary E. (Linda) Bates of Lebanon, TN; four grandchildren, David A. (Heather) Bates, Tonya (Paul) Nelson, Edward Bates and Denise (Chris) Juliano; and three great grandchildren, Grace Bates, Amber and Luke Nelson. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Bates, who died September 5, 2000; Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, May 4, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 5, 2011 at the funeral home with Evangelist Dallas Lockhart officiating. Louise will be laid to rest next to her husband Chester in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
