Glen "Tex" Huddleston, 80, of Zanesville, passed away after a short, hard-fought illness at 12:29 P.M. Tuesday, January 1, 2013, at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born August 1, 1932, in Honeygrove, TX, a son of the late Elster and Georgia Meadors Huddleston. He was a United States Marine veteran of the Korean War and retired as an inspector from Rockwell International in 1992. He was a member of VFW George Selsam Post 1058, American Legion Post 29, Masonic Lodge of Amity #5 F & AM, a 32nd Degree Mason Sublime Prince Valley of Cambridge, FOPA Lodge #16, and Amrou Grotto #45. Surviving are his wife, Shirley Yvonne Savage Huddleston, whom he married October 7, 1961; a son Glen S. Huddleston of Zanesville; and a brother Delbert Wayne (Evelyn) Huddleston of Spring, TX. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Wheeler and Pauline Parsons; a brother Claudean Huddleston; and nephew Kevin Jack Parsons. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, January 4, 2013, at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, with a service by FOPA at 5:45 P.M. on Friday. A grotto service will take place at 10:45 A.M. on Saturday, January 5, 2013, before the 11:00 A.M. funeral service, also at the funeral home, with Pastor Brian Law officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with military honors being presented by the United States Marines in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post 1058.
