Gloria J. (Hammond) Giffin

Gloria J. (Hammond) Stephenson Giffin, 88, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family, while under the care of Shriver’s Hospice. She was born April 26, 1934 in Greenup County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Clarence and Sarah (Blankenbeckley) Hammond. She enjoyed worshiping her God and enjoyed her church family at the Union Tabernacle Church, where she was a prayer warrior.  In her younger days she enjoyed yard sales, cookouts and picnics with her family.

She is survived by three daughters, Karen Hopkins, Debra Alexander and Tesa Giffin; three sons, Michael Stephenson, Randy (Nikki) Giffin, Gregory (Anita) Giffin; nineteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Gloria is preceded in death by her first husbanded, Clyde Stephenson who died in 1963 and her second husband, Delbert Lee Giffin who died in 2014; two sons, Roger Stephenson who died in 1959 and Keith Allen Giffin who died in 1969.

Friends and family may call from 2:00 to 4:00 P.M. and 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the Union Tabernacle Church, 2425 Hartford Avenue, Zanesville, OH 43701 and one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at 11:00 A.M. at the church on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 with Rev. Terry D. Newman officiating. Gloria will be laid to rest beside her late husband Delbert Giffin at Woodlawn Cemetery, Zanesville.
