Gordon C. Swick, 95, of Zanesville, died Friday, August 17, 2012 at 2:14 p.m. at Countryview Assisted Living. He was born October 14, 1916, a son to the late Isaac and Jennie Denny Swick. Gordon worked as a bus driver for Rapid Transport, and he retired from Hannon Electric Service after 27 years of service. He was an 82 year member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church, where he was a Sunday School Teacher. He was an avid golfer, and he loved to travel to Florida with his wife, Virginia. Surviving are one son, Edward Swick of Zanesville; a step daughter, Suzanne Morrison of South Zanesville; two step grandchildren, Debbie Mitchell of Blue Rock and Joseph (Robin) Morrison of Zanesville; five step great grandchildren, Michelle (Pat) Henry, Jaime (Jeremy) Stutes, both of Blue Rock, Lisa Dickerson, Joseph (Jeannie) Morrison II, both of Zanesville, and Angela (Richard) Maxwell of Melbourne, FL; eight step great great grandchildren, Samantha, Nicholas, Patrick, Colton, Joseph III, Collin, Addyson, and Peyton; six nieces, Nancy, June, Eileen, Luanna, Shirley and Carol; one nephew, Richard; and a special friend Barbara Moon. In addition to his parents, Gordon was preceded in death by the love of his life, his wife, Virginia Potts Swick, who passed away December 5, 1998; five brothers, Malcom, Robert, James, Dabney and Paul Swick; three sisters, Violet, Catherine and Gwendolyn; and three nieces, Ginger, Helen, and Patsy. No calling hours will be observed, a graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 24, 2012 at Woodlawn Cemetery with Pastor Tom England officiating.
