Gregory L. Fisher

Gregory Lee L. Fisher, 66, of South Zanesville, completed his pilgrimage to that City whose Builder and maker is God; as he fell asleep and woke in the arms of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, surrounded by his loving family at 8:30 A.M. Saturday, July 6, 2013. Mr Fisher was born November 7, 1946 in Zanesville to his loving parents, Edwin Lee and Ruth Louise Wilson Fisher. He was a graduate of Zanesville High School Class of 1965. Greg served his country with distinction and honor in the United States Air Force from 1966-1970. From 1972-1993 Mr. Fisher also served the community of Zanesville with honor as a policeman for the City of Zanesville. The eternity of Mr. Fisher was changed when he met Jesus in 1974 and in 1981 was called by God to preach the Gospel having introduced many to the saving knowledge of God. Only God knows the number of souls he blessed by the Grace of God in his life. He is survived by his loving wife Elsie Kay Hayes Fisher, whom he loved implicitly and married in 1969; daughter, Amy Sue; son, Scott Gregory ( Marlana); four grandchildren, his joy and crown, Lance Cpl. Scott B., Darla K., Jacelyn F. and Breanna G. He has joined in that Blood washed group by his parents, maternal grandparents, Jessie and Hazel Wilson and his best friend and brother-in-law, Cpl. Doddrid Hayes. Friends and family may call from noon until time of funeral service at 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 9, 2013 Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where services will be presided by his friend and Evangelist Robert Huber Jr. He will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery with full military honors being conducted by the U.S. Air Force in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville to help defray funeral expenses.
