Harold F. "Duck" Fraunfelter, 86, of Zanesville, died at 8:03 A.M. on Wednesday, June 17, 2015, at the Helen Purcell Home. He was born September 7, 1928, in Zanesville, a son of the late William and Mary Turner Fraunfelter. He had worked for over 30 years with the United States Postal Service. He was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict, a lifetime member of VFW George Selsam Post #1058, American Legion Post 29, past Commander of VFW, former treasurer of FOPA Lodge, and participated in many VFW firing squad details. Surviving are his wife of 50 years, Mary F. Britt Fraunfelter, whom he married July 31, 1965; daughters, Sally (Don) Hecker, Peggy (John) Echols, Kathy (Mark) Clapper, and Marsha (Joe) Volpi; a son Tom (Gloria) Gormley; thirteen grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and a sister Marilyn (Larry) Arnold. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two daughters, Susan Gutridge and Sandy Schwartzmiller; and six brothers, Edward, John, Jerry, Bill, Bob, and Allen Fraunfelter. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, June 19, 2015, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating. Duck will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville, with full military honors bestowed upon him by his beloved VFW George Selsam Post #1058, whom he served with on countless burial details.
