Harold J. Johnson, Jr. 88, of Zanesville, passed at 11:50 A.M. on Sunday, April 1, 2018, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, Zanesville. He was born September 18, 1929, in Columbus, a son of the late Harold and Bertha Switzer Johnson, Sr. He was a retired mold maker at Brockway Glass, Zanesville. Harold was a United States Army Veteran, a member of the Eagles, Moose Lodge 867, VFW, American Legion, and Fraternal Order of Police. He enjoyed spending his time camping and square dancing with his wife, and working on home projects. He is survived by his wife, Joan S. Todd Johnson; four step-children Penny Tanner, Terry (Chuck) Frick, Mike (Kathy) Foster Sr., and Robin Hatfield; loving grandchildren, Arena, Cade, Maren, Lindsey, Mike Jr., Jeremy (Kasey), Jason (Vanessa), Jody (Jennifer), Melisha (Jamie), and Ryan; twelve great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Betty and brother-in-law, Gordon Keith. Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of service at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville where full Military Honors will be accorded to him by the United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and the American Legion Post 29.
