Harold E. Parmater

August 24, 1918 — June 21, 2008

Harold E. Parmater, 89, of Zanesville, passed away at 11:38 a.m. Saturday, June 21, 2008 at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House. He was born August 24, 1918, in Lansing, MI., the son of the late Leon and Amy Margaret Jameson Parmater. Harold was the former purchasing agent for Thompson Radio Supplies. His hobbies were swimming, boating, woodworking, photography and music. He was a longtime member of Coburn United Methodist Church, an Army Air Corp Veteran of World War II and a member of the LaFayette Masonic Lodge # 79 F & AM. Surviving are his wife, Helen L. Kissinger Parmater, whom he married July 27, 1940 of the home; a son, John Parmater of Zanesville; grandchildren, Eric Parmater of Los Angeles, CA., Matthew Parmater of Columbus and Susan Parmater of Osterville, MA. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Lee Parmater. Friends may call 2 to 4 & 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville where masonic services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2008 with the Rev. Doris Flynn officiating. Burial will follow at Chandlersville Cemetery with VFW George Selsam Post 1058 holding military services at the gravesite.
