Harry W. Murphy, Jr.

Harry W. Murf Murphy, Jr., 89, of Zanesville, died at 1:15 A.M. on Monday, May 8, 2017, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, Zanesville. He was born October 20, 1927, in Zanesville, a son of the late Harry W. and Erma Newsom Murphy, Sr. He was a drafting engineer at McGraw Edison/Cooper Industries for over forty years and a member of First United Methodist Church. Murf was a member and past master of the Lodge of Amity #5, member of Zane Trail Kampers, and Zanesville High School Athletic Boosters. He loved hunting, fishing, bowling, and softball. He is survived by two sons, Michael (Joanne) Murphy and Patrick Murphy; five grandchildren, Brian (Tina) Murphy, Josh Murphy, Kelly (Dan) Morrison, Ebonie Murphy, and Devin Murphy; and seven great-grandchildren, Taylor Murphy, Tristan Murphy, Andrew Morrison, Brianna Morrison, Cameron Morrison, Kalyeb Francis, and Dawson Frank. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bonnie Lou Kokensparger Murphy, who died November 24, 2016.
