Helen V (Reed) Brauning

Helen V. Brauning, 92, of Gratiot, died at 6:28 P.M. on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Emeritus at North Hills in Zanesville. She was born January 21, 1920, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Harley and Elsie Dickson Reed. She was a member of Gratiot United Methodist Church, and was active in Esther Circle and the Gratiot Garden Club. Surviving are a daughter, Beth Brauning of Dublin; two sons, Stephen Brauning of Houston and Mark Brauning of Columbus; two sisters, Joy Hudak and Hazel George, both of Zanesville; a brother Willard Reed of Zanesville; a grandson Shane Brauning of Springfield; four great grand-children and two great great-grandchildren; and her loving in-laws. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband Carl Brauning, who passed away August 15, 1991. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 P.M. and 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 21, 2012 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where the funeral will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, October 22, 2012 with Pastor Matthew Blau officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery next to her husband Carl. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gratiot United Methodist Church: P.O. Box 138, Gratiot, Ohio 43740.
