Helen J. Gilcher, 73, of Quaker City, died at 10:10 A.M. on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, Zanesville. She was born January 2, 1945, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Harry and Helen Stotts Newell. She had a varied career working at a doctors office, janitorial services, learned accounting, and worked at a bank in St. Petersburg, Florida. But her passion was being self-employed as a bookkeeper. Helen enjoyed traveling to Oregon and Germany with her favorite being England. She had an outstanding memory never forgetting a thing. She is survived by her husband, Myron W. Gilcher, of the home, whom she married December 29, 1963; a sister, Margaret (Addie) Robison of Zanesville; a brother-in-law, Bob Kokensparger; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth Newell; and two sisters, June Burkhead and Eva Kokensparger. A Cremation-With-Care will take place with a memorial service to be held at a later date.
