Helen M. (Koontz) Kihm

Helen M. Kihm, 97, of Zanesville, died at 5:57 A.M. on Monday, November 18, 2013, at Emeritus at North Hills. She was born August 1, 1916, in Peru, IN, a daughter of the late Karl and Mary Murphy Koontz. She had worked as a manager of the Clubhouse at Green Valley Golf Course, was a volunteer for Genesis Hospice, and was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church. Surviving are two sons, James (Constance) Kihm of Holmes Beach, FL, and Thomas (Mary) Kihm of North Augusta, SC; six grandchildren; two great granddaughters; and two nieces. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John F. Kihm, whom she married August 29, 1940, and who died June 8, 2006; a brother George Koontz; and a sister Ruth Beauchamp. Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Friday, November 22, 2013, at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 23, 2013, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 Main Street, Zanesville, with Father Martin Ralko as celebrant. She will be laid to rest at Mt. Olive Cemetery, Zanesville, next to her beloved husband John.
