Helen L. (Walpole) Shirer

Helen L. Mason Shirer, 90, of Zanesville, died Friday, November 27, 2015, at her home. She was born October 8, 1925, in Zanesville. A daughter of the late Walter and Isabelle Lawson Walpole. Helen was a member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church and loved to bowl at Military and Sunrise Lanes. She is survived by her husband, Clarence E. "Lefty" Shirer of Zanesvlle; a sister, Shirley (Bill) Robison of Zanesville; six nieces, Kim Maxwell of Zanesville, Kelly (George) Patterson of Zanesville, Linda, Elaine, Brenda and Sheila; four nephews, Rusty (Becky) Robison of Westerville, Scott (Michelle) Robison of Zanesville, Jimmy Walpole of Zanesville and Joe Walpole of Zanesville; two great nieces, Anita (Mike) Murphy of Columbia, SC and Amanda (Michael) Piolata of Blacklick and her loving dog, Cassie. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Kenneth E. "Pinkie" Mason who died May 8, 2000 and a brother, Jim Walpole Sr. and a sister, Betty Walpole. No calling hours will be observed a graveside service will be held Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 1:00 P.M. with Dr. L. Steven Fewell officiating at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
