Helen V. Slivka, 94, of Grand Blanc, MI, formerly of Zanesville, died at 7:52 p.m. Monday, January 2, 2012 at the Genesys Convalescent Center in Grand Blanc. She was born November 27, 1917, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late David B. and Esme Fletcher Hill. She was a member of the Market Street Baptist Church and the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Surviving are a son, Ron L. Slivka of Hobe Sound, FL.; two step brothers, Jack Hill of Lowell, OH and David Hill of Hopewell, OH; four grandchildren; five great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John L. Slivka, who died April 9, 1988; her step mother, Alma Hill; a brother, Vernon Hill; and a sister, Eileen Riley.
