Henry Clay Lancaster

Henry Clay Lancaster, 78, of Zanesville, died at 7:15 P.M. on Sunday, February 7, 2021, at Select Specialty Hospital, Newark. He was born May 5, 1942, in Toledo, a son of the late Victor and Irene (Prebble) Lancaster. He was a United States Army Veteran and a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church. Henry was a transport driver for McHugh’s for eight years, a painter for over forty five years, an avid golfer, golfing at least once or twice a day, and bowling twice a week. He loved to eat and watch golf, racing, bowling, and the Ohio State Buckeyes.

He is survived by his wife of fifty years, Linda (Pride) Lancaster, whom he married January 6, 1970; four children, Stephanie (Rick) Smith, Jim (Teresa) Dailey, Kelli Dailey, and Ashley (Kevin) Brennan; thirteen grandchildren, Chris (Talesia) Smith, Kaylee (Rick) Schanz, Nicole Lindell, Corey Haga, Deven Dailey, Will (Tashia) Neithers, Paige (Cary) McCurdy, Dakata (Megan) McHugh, Rainer Frueh, Axel Frueh, River Frueh, Taran King, and Kylie King; nine great-grandchildren; siblings, Jerry (Diane) Lancaster, Vickie (Vinton) Ross, Patty (Dan) McFee, and Susie Honaker; sister-in-law, Glenna Jenkins; and special friends, Don Stewart, Chub Chambers, and Sonny Wilson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Stacy Frueh; sister, Ethel Saunders; and brother, Chuck Lancaster.

Friends and family may call from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. Full Military Honors will be accorded to him by the United States Army in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and the American Legion Post 29 at 3:45 P.M. on the front lawn of the funeral home. To conclude the services, a prayer will be held at 8:00 P.M.  A cremation will follow the services.

The family requests that self-provided face masks be worn and social distancing be observed during the calling hours and funeral service.
