Herbert Fries

Herbert Fries, 94, of Zanesville, died at 5:50 P.M. on Saturday, January 6, 2024 at the Oaks of Bethesda, Zanesville. He was born June 9, 1929, in Brooklyn, New York, a son of the late Samuel and Anna Ferrer Fries. Herb was self-employed Taxi Driver and enjoyed sports, cooking, grocery shopping and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by a son, Miles (Deborah) Fries; a brother, Donald Fries; two granddaughters, Amanda (Robert) Fries Niedemeyer and Sarah Fries; two great grandsons, Carter Niedemeyer and Theo Niedemeyer; and a cousin, Shirley November.

In addition to his parents, Herb is preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Joy (Kahn) Fries, who died July 8, 2018; and two brothers, Allen Fries and Joseph Fries.

Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with Rabbi Alex Braver officiating. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife Patricia at Beth Abraham Jewish Cemetery, Zanesville.
