Hilda E. Bates

Hilda Eileen Bates, 87, of 1136 Adair Ave., Zanesville, went to be with her Lord at 1:40 a.m. Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the Cedar Hill Care Center. Mrs. Bates was born March 27, 1921, in Zanesville, the daughter of the late Roy and Lulu Tumblin Bowen. She was a homemaker who loved quilting, cooking, baking and loved her grand kids. Surviving are two sons, Glenn (Sherry) Bates of Norwich and Gale (Nancy) Bates of Cambridge Ohio; three grandsons, David Bates of Columbus, Scott (Marisa) Bates of Malta, Ohio and Dustin Bates of Cambridge; four great grandchildren, James Bates, Clayton Bates, Caralee Bates and Dominic Bates. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Bates, who died September 14, 1998 and an infant sister, Bonnie Jean Bowen. Friends may call 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, May 29, 2008 at the funeral home with Pastor Doug Winner officiating. Burial will follow at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
