Hilma R. Bailey, 83, of Zanesville, died at 11:44 p.m. Friday, February 9, 2007 at her residence. She was born January 31, 1924, in Belmont, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harry and Serena Toothman Van Fossen. Hilma was a longtime member of the Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church and the United Methodist Women. She served as a Gray Lady Volunteer at the Good Samaritan Hospital for many years and was a avid bridge player. Surviving are two daughters, Candice (Stewart) Hoover of Zanesville and Mary Creeks and fiancee Clyde Dickerson of Zanesville; a son, Robert Dayle (Karen) Bailey of Zanesville; two sisters, Freda (Bill) Ankrum of Caldwell and Betty Jean Wright of Seville; eight grandchildren, Kellye Krebs, Robert, Ryan and Reid Bailey, Darren and Daniel La Shelle, Chad Creeks and Cori Wilkes; eight great grandchildren, Kaleb and Kenzie Krebs, Reid and Luna Bailey, Bailee and Brodee Creeks and Raeann and Bailey Wilkes; special friends and neighbors, Marjorie Shipley and Tom and Christie Smith. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, A. Dayle Bailey, who died February 10, 1992; by a sister, Janet Moore and two brothers, Glenn and Harry Van Fossen. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2007 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave. Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, February 12, 2007 at the funeral home with the Rev. Clarence M. Dinnen officiating. A caring cremation will follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church.
