Homer L. Shroyer, 89, of Zanesville died at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2005 at Adams Lane Care Center. He was born July 3, 1915 at Adamsville a son of the late Oliver Leroy and Priscilla Shores Shroyer. He retired from Farm Supply after 20 years of service, was a member of the Euclid Avenue United Methodist Church and had served for 20 years as the janitor. Surviving are four sons; Bernard Shroyer of Palm Springs,California, Dwayne ( Treva) Shroyer of Kernersville, North Carolina, Donald (Kip) Shroyer of Nashport and Richard Shroyer of Stilwell, Ohio; two daughters; Jean (Bill) McBride of Dresden and Dianne (Fred) Messerschmidt of Nashport; a step-daughter, Coleen Taylor of Zanesville; twenty one grandchildren, thirty great grandchildren, and six great great grandchildren, a brother, Wilmer (Joanne) Shroyer of New Philadelphia, a sister, Kathleen ( Stan) Paskell of Zanesville. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Shroyer who died in 1993, a daughter, Edna Cox who died in 2004, three sisters, Edna , Mildred and Helen, three brothers, John , Earl and Charles, a great grandson and a great granddaughter. The family will receive friends from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2005 at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville where funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 16, 2005 with Rev. Clarence Dinner and Rev. Cheryl Foulk officiating. Burial will follow at Dresden Cemetery.
