Irene M. Figi

Irene M. Figi, 87, passed away Friday, December 20th, 2024, while in the care of Otterbein SeniorLife. She was born in Detroit, Michigan to Michael and Eva (Frederickson) Fina on December 15th, 1937. 

Irene and her husband, Dennis, moved from Michigan to Zanesville, Ohio in the 1970’s where Dennis worked for United Technologies. Irene worked in retail, and was active in the community and Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. After Dennis passed on May 28th, 1994, Irene began working for Thrivent Financial in downtown Zanesville until she retired. Following an illness in 2018, Irene moved into Otterbein Granville where she resided until her passing. Prior to her passing, she commented on the kindness of the staff at Otterbein who often made her laugh. She was a dedicated mother and grandmother, who loved all her family, which included the family dogs. Irene will be truly and deeply missed by all who knew her.

 She leaves behind her children David (Gina) Figi and Craig (Carolyn) Figi; her grandchildren Hannah Figi (Michael) Williams, and Helen Figi; her sister Sharon (Tim) Graham and brother Larry (Judy) Fina; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews, all of whom she adored.

 Irene is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dennis Figi, and her parents, Michael and Eva Fina: her brother, Ken Fina, and her sister-in-law, Eunyce.

 A private ceremony will be held for Irene on Friday, December 27th. All arrangements have been entrusted to the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. 

 In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Irene’s memory to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran at 128 S 7th St. Zanesville, OH. 43701 or the Licking County Humane Society at 825 Thornwood Dr. SW Heath, OH. 43056.
