J. Richard "Dick" Bromley, 83, of Zanesville, died at 11:35 a.m. Sunday, August 24, 2008 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. He was born November 8, 1924, in Washington, Pennsylvania, a son of the late J. Arch and Amie C. Chadwick Bromley. He was the owner & operator of Bromley Drilling, was a member of Jackson Lodge #85 F & AM of Brownsville and the American Legion. He was a World War II Army Veteran and a Presbyterian by faith. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Ann Tyo Bromley, whom he married July 9, 1978, of the home; two sons, James Richard (Sharon) Bromley of Blue Rock and William I. Bromley of Crooksville; two daughters, Tammy R. Bromley of Avondale and Kimberly Ann Bromley of Fultonham; six step-daughters, Pamela Sue Isaacs of Belle, West Virginia, Robin Ann McCormick of Zanesville, Sheena May of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Patricia Marie May, Crystal Lynn Beach and Anita May, all of Zanesville; three step-sons, John Eugene May Jr. of Crystal Lake, Illinois, Russell Raymond May of Brownsville and Thomas Eugene May of Zanesville; 7 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; many step-grandchildren and many step-great grandchildren and a brother, Harold J. "Jack" (Betty Ann) Bromley of Brownsville. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Anne. Friends may call 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville where Jackson Lodge #85 F & AM will hold masonic services at 6:00 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 27, 2008 at the funeral home with the Rev. Mark E. Ballmer officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery with full military rites provided by the United States Army in conjunction with VFW George Selsam Post #1058.
