Jack G. Jones, 84, of Blue Rock, Ohio died at 8:24 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital, Zanesville, Ohio. He was born May 11, 1927, in Somerret Co., PA., a son of the late Thomas M. Jones and Velma Handwork Jones Burkhart. He was a World War II Navy Veteran, was the former owner of the 41 Motel in Sarasota, Florida and had worked for LaPeiree Pottery, Kaiser Aluminium and Oxford Oil. Jack was a member of the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and the American Legion Post 71 in Roseville. Surviving are two sons, John (Joanne) Jones of Zanesville and Paul C. Jones of Glenford; two grandchildren, Joshua (Jill) Jones of Zanesville and Marisa Jones of Blacklick,; a great grandson, Jaedon Torres of Blacklick; a brother, Tom (Thelma) Jones of Blue Rock; two sisters, Annabelle Meisberger of Zanesville and Iva Jones of Nashport; and the mother of his children, J. Pauline Jones of Zanesville. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Jones; and a sister, Pauline Grosscup. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at the funeral home and Jack will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park with full military honors being provided by the United States Navy with the assistance of VFW George Selsam Post 1058.
