Jack Melvin Nicholson, 68, of Zanesville, passed away at 1:50 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital following a long illness surrounded by family and friends. He was born November 19, 1939, in Byesville, Ohio, a son of the late Lawrence and Marjorie Wood Nicholson. He was a former office manager and dispatcher at Haliburton, Cemenco and Kelso Plumbing and was a member of Finley United Methodist Church. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, Rachel Covert Nicholson, of the home; two sons, Raymond (Teresea) and Timothy (Sandy) Nicholson, both of Zanesville; a daughter, Sarah (Dave) Scott of Heath; two sisters, Nancy Barker of Roseville and Janis (Lewis) Miller of Lebanon; a brother, Jerry (Cheryl) Nicholson of Hopewell; an aunt, Edith Barnes of Cambridge; four grandchildren, Janette and Adam Nicholson and Jane and Nelson Scott; five step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. Friends may call 2-4 & 6- 8 p.m. Thursday, February 14, 2008 at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Ave., Zanesville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, February 15, 2008 at the funeral home with the Father Emmanuel Bertrand and Kinsey Tanner officiating. Burial will follow at Williams Cemetery, Zanesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in memory of Jack M.
